Alturas is another superb Mexican varietal from the mountains of Oaxaca. With a pleasing aroma, medium body and moderately bright finish, it too has the chocolate undertones found in other Mexico coffees, but with a subtle note of cherry lingering in the clean, dry finish. The characteristics of the organic Alturas are at their peak with a medium- to dark-roast. The Alturas stands well on its own – especially as an afternoon or dessert coffee – but it is also a superb blending coffee. For a special treat, try it iced.
