Guatemala Heuheutenango • Fair Trade Organic
Rich body, spicy and chocolate flavors with a clean finish
The high, steep, mist-shrouded volcanic slopes of southern Guatemala
produce one of the most distinctive and desirable coffees of
Central America. With its surprisingly deep, rich body
and muted overtones, the Heuheutenango (pronounced "way-way-tenango")
is perhaps closer in some characteristics to Indonesian coffees
than to other Central American coffees. The complex flavor
of chocolate and spice roll over the tongue with ever-changing
tones. The finish is clean and long, with the notes of
spice becoming predominant. The Heuheutenango does well
with a medium- to dark-roast. Though it blends well with
other coffees, this is a coffee that has enough complexity to
be a delight on its own. The Heuheutenango also makes a
great iced coffee.
