Clean, bright and snappy, the Tres Volcanos is a morning person’s coffee par excellence.  Many consider the coffees that originate from this jewel of a country to be the epitome of what to expect from a Central American coffee.  This "Strictly Hard Bean" (S.H.B. is the Costa Rican classification for varieties grown in the lush highlands) is deserving of the world’s admiration.  Tres Volcanos sparkles on the palate from beginning to end.  It has a medium- to heavy-body, a full complex flavor tinged with citrus, and a lingering, crisp finish.  The citrus sparkle is best exemplified with a light- to medium-roast, though a pleasing sweetness to the finish is imparted with a darker roast.  For a blend, try it with a deep, rich, Indonesian coffee and you will think you have died and gone to coffee heaven.
